Hey

I reformatted my computer today in hopes that Warcraft 3 would not crash after 5 minutes. My hopes have been crushed.

I've tried many things but today I managed to avert a near crash while testing it and noticed that my CPU usage was nearly 100%. (In the windows Task manager, the graph was as close as it could get to the top).

Would this have anything to do with my game crashing?
Any help please this is so frustrating I just wanna play some warcraft lol.

Hello World.

It could be cooling issues. Try using a piece of software like SpeedFan to check on your temps. Report back with some temps and your CPU make/model as that could be the problem.

CPU usage of 100% is normal if you have a single core processor. The crash is probably due to cooling, since you will presumably have installed the latest drivers after your reformat.

SppedFan doesn't work for me?

It says
'Unable to use I/Oi in Readings.
all the settings in clock are blank.
In info is says "no chipset detected"
and the DIMM info is
|"Unable to gather info about DIMMs.
May be they are not accessible on the SMBus.
This is usual for ASUS boards."
And there are no harddrive's listed under SMART.
And Charts is completely blank.

WTF?

I used my bios to check the temperatures.
It says my processor was 62degrees?
And the other ones were floating around 42 and 46.
62 seems a bit high?

I have issues with speedfan on my PC too, it doesn't work for all PCs.
62C is very high for a CPU though, especially when it's not running a game. To put it into perspective, the highest my CPU ever gets to whilst running a game is about 42C.
Have you cleaned out the PC recently? It could be very dusty in there...

A couple of things you could do. First of all try Everest maybe that will work. Also, like Sam said, clean out your PC it can make a big difference. There might be a TON of dirt on the HSF if you never have before. Also try lapping the HSF with Arctic Silver 5.
