There is the company who makes it, try getting it decrypted via DVDFAB Decryptor. Hmm. Ill do some more researching.

EDIT: AnyDVD users are safe, or so says another forum.
EDIT EDIT: AnyDVD, DVDFAB, and FreeDVD are the programs that can be used to get rid of that stupid Ripguard.

Hi, i got the same problem with << Das Leben der Anderen >> dvd: the dvd player in my hifi system plays it fine, but with the dvd-drive of my laptop... there's no way at all, the laptop doen't even see it! I tried to change disc, same results.
it MUST be a new protection mechanism.

Well, all we can do is wait. I hope they get this cracked soon, haha. I liked Chuck and Larry.

Hold down the shift key as you insert the DVD and keep it down until the drive spins up. That stops auto-run, which you really shouldn't have turned on anyway.

for some reason this link works on the other thread and not this one , it gives me a google can't find page.
the other thread topic also differs to where the chuck and larry dvd tries to load , will not load , and causes some programs to not respond. the dvd will not read to put in any program

sorry, this link should work:

http://blogs.zdnet.com/hardware/index.php?p=114

it seemed to me that the two threads shared similar issues, as this new protection makes dvd be played on dvd-players other than within a pc.

What if some people don't have DVD players, and want to watch via there PC? Hows that going to work? I think this is just stupid.
