dru-840a won't burn dual layer less than 4x?

I am trying to burn backups of 360 games at 2.4x, but every time I set the burn speed it is just bypassed and writes at 4x. I have tried setting the speeds at 1x,2x, and 2.4x but never succeed. I have tried using dvd decrypter and clonecd. Thanks for any help in advance.
