Q6600 DUAL CORE OR E6600 CORE 2 DUO???

Im going to be upgrading my pc shortly
& was wondering what would be the best proccesor:-
a quad core q6600 or a dual core e6600..
i would be mostly using the pc for watching tv,
playing games & listening to music & watching films..
any help is appreciated, thanks :-)

the E6600 should be perfect for what you are doing. anything more like Ps, and a Q core would be good. but better and cheaper then the E6600 is the E6750, and its faster at stock.

Unless you regularly do mega CPU-intensive tasks like editing video using professional software, a Core 2 Duo is much more suitable.

Looks like ill be getting the E6750, but have one more question.

I use the Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R which is an all round excellent board. There is no 'best' motherboard to use, only good ones and bad ones.

I cant remember the name of the motherboard i was going to get but,
i think it was a Gigabyte board & was capable of quad core..
