As there are more than 300 pages on hardware issues, I apologize for being too lazy to search them all. Also, I don't know if my situation is specific to my pc or not. I just got an HP Pavilion Media Center m8200n with a 19" widescreen monitor and the salsman at the store said it was possible to hook up dual monitors to this. I've only ever gone as far as adding hard disk or DVD-r drives to my computers and am clueless as to where to start to do something like this. I think it would be awesome to do and being a novice, I would appreciate any help from all of you experts out there. My second monitor is a Dell 17" normal aspect LCD. Thanks.

What video card do you have? Check how many output connectors are on it. Nvidia allows you to configure your computer for multiple monitors (provided you use nvidia drivers). Without system specs it's hard to give advice tho!

I guess I could look up HP m8200n but I'm lazy too. But then again, I'm not the one seeking help.

The graphics card is an Nvidia GeForce 6150 SE graphics, 128MB dedicated graphics memory. It should have 2 ports since I was told that I can connect 2 monitors to it. Is that all I have to do is simply plug in the second one? Though I don't see any second input on the back. Do I have to open it up or add something?

Well, have you installed the latest driver from nvidia for your video card? I think you will be out of luck with only one output connector. You may be able to get a splitter but I'm afraid you'll end up getting the same image on each monitor. What you need is a video card like this LINK. Notice the dual DVI output connectors?

Thanks for your help. Apparently that kid salesman didn't really know what he was talking about because he was wrong about something else, too.

Yeah, that usually happens. You can always buy a card like the one I linked to but to replace a new card just to add a 2nd monitor may or may not be worth the extra $$
