mgray69,
It uses Nero Express. Run it and from there you can opt either Data CD or Data DVD. I hope I was able to give you the answer you're looking for.

I apreciate the effort, but I'm looking for the actual file system that is used to burn the data. Such as FAT31/16, NTFS, UDF etc.

Thanks again

"ISO9660 + UDF" is the name of the actual file system.

mgray69, I'm sorry I misunderstood your question. Anyway, I'm not sure what exactly you're trying to accomplish here. FAT32, FAT16 and NTFS are different kinds of file systems used by all OSs. But Xplorer4 hit the nail right on the head. Other suite programs such as Roxio and Sonic Record Now also use the same file system when writing data CD/DVDs.

ImgBurn uses this system by default as well.

As pryme_H, what are you trying to accomplish?

Hey thanks guys, thats exactly what I wanted to know.

What I'm doing is backing up data on DVD, but I'm having some issues with some XP systems reading them. When they can be read, Windows Explorer says the file system for the disc is "CDFS". So I'm not sure if thats the reason I'm having some issues.

I seemed to find a unreliable fix, I can run DVDIdentifier and it sometimes triggers the OS to read these discs.

Idealy I'd like to understand what's going on so I can elliminate any chance of compatibility issues.

mgray69,
Do you have multiple OSs? Different Windows OSs support different file systems. Or it might be that one of your laser is dead. The drive uses two lasers, one for DVD and the other for CD. Unfortunately, if one is dead it can't be retrieved.
