Use a gamepad with Kane and Lynch?

Hiya,

So i picked up Kane and Lynch for pc yesterday and i love it. But i want to play co op with a pal. So i plug in my trusty gamepad, and i go to co op

"Please plug in a 360 gamepad"

My gamepad has the same amount of buttons and the like

So is there any way i can either make it work with my gamepad, or trick it into reading my gamepad as a 360 controller?
