Alright, I'm getting closer and closer to school and I still need a laptop, I was going to buy one off craigs list to save money (since I was going to pay in cash), but now I have found some sites that have payment plans so either my mother/father will be getting me one for a grad gift, but they want to get it sooner rather than later (as do I) so they know how to work out their finances around this. I went to a few sites, but here's the thing. In some benchmarks things like the Go7600 or 7800 outperform like the 8400 and I saw the 8600GT outperformed by the 7950GTX, right now I just need to know what are the decent - good laptop graphics cards so I know I'm not messing up. I wanna be future proof with DX 10 but not at the risk of hurting my own performance, I can always buy another comp in 2 years.
Now that I can do a payment plan (assuming I use one of the following sites), I'm looking to spend betwen 1000-1500 (maybe a little over). So far on these sites the ones that have intrigued me are:
I'm researching some benchmarks now, but I knew you guys would be able to explain it better, quicker, and show me a config that would fit a decent gaming rig while I'm away with no desktop.
The 8600M GT isn't too bad as far as laptop graphics cards go, and it's the fastest DX10 laptop GPU you'll find on that budget. However, the 7950GTX is significantly faster. if you can find a 7950GTX laptop for within your budget go for it, but I think that's going to be unlikely. If you don't, stick with the 8600GT.
