Hey guy's :)

I can't log into my fedora server via vnc, anyone got suggestions on this ?

So from past experience I typed vncserver :1

It said something like "starting application specified in root/ .vnc/ xstartup
log file is /root/.vnc/servermyname.com:1.log"

so I thought great, opened up tightvnc and put in the ip address:1

But now it says can't connect to server....I've tried lots of different things but can't connect.

I mailed the guy and he said he can't help, that it was to do with vnc and not his server.

any suggestions on this guy's?

EDIT:

I logged in via Winscp and here's what the log said :

Couldn't open RGB_DB '/usr/share/X11/rgb'

Also when I was running vnc first on my server, it wouldn't rum at all, it said something like "Xauth" not found can't run vnc. So I installed Xauth via yum -y. I don't even know what Xauth is :-\

You are trying to login as root, which the server security policy will not allow. It looks like vncserver is working on the server end so you need to login as <user>@<ip>:1 .. and then depending on how it is set up it should ask you for a password.

I ran it on my webserver until it just stopped working.. something went corrupt somewhere. Hope you have ftp or ssh access as well.
