How do i create a lan connection?

Basically i had a normal working pc but it was just slow, so i formatted it. Now i usually connect to the internet using a Linksy's Router, connecting threw my local area network (LAN). after the format i have no LAN connection in the "network connections" folder.

I use the "network creation wizard" i select the following options

Connect to the internet

Using a broadband that is always on

it says succes etc. but still no LAN port is made?

i am to beleive i may not have the driver as it may have been wiped out when i formatted. In that case i need it, i have An Emachines Desktop, model 5240. i have had no luck on finding any sort of LAN ethernet driver.

You're correct, the drivers have not been reinstated. You should have a driver CD for things like that.

I may have forgotten to mention that this Computer is around 4 years old, and as such any kind of Cd, Software and driver Cd i may have recievied with my computer, is now un-availible to me. Is there any way around this without the use of a Cd?

I'm afraid not, it'll be whatever the name of the LAN chipset the motherboard uses.
