I recently bought a dell 1520 with a gforce 256mb 8600, I had some problems so I exchanged it with dell and they sent me a system with almost everything the same, except a nicer lcd, 3gig's of ram instead of 2, and a gforce 256mb 8400.

I overall get a better notebook, but don't know if the diffence is that big with the video cards, that I should be as pissed off about it as I am. Just wanted some other opinions before I open the new system.

The 8600 is way better than the 8400 in games.

I would be pissed off. Tell them to take it back and give you the same setup you have now just with a 8600.

Thanks for the info, I was pissed off for a minute, but I opened the system and although all the paperwork they gave me says 8400, when I turned it one it says it is an 8600. Maybe some guy at dell felt bad for me and decided not to waste my time or money. Now I just need to make sure it burns DL dvd's and I'm good.

In short, one's crap, the other one isn't! (This of course refers to the graphics cards, not the laptops)
