I can not find any information about this product. I have the company's URL, which is no longer valid, the email address that's on the owner's manual provided with the product. That is not longer valid either. The 800 phone number now belongs to another company as well.
We can't seem to get any DVD's to work in this system other then the Memorex DVD-R, 4x, which we can no longer find.
Does anyone have any information on this product? It's the GoVideo DVD + VCR COMBO DVR4000. I don't know how to contact this company or get help with the problem.
I believe that Go Video is not operating any longer. I'm not sure it is only in the US or worldwide
By your post it would seem the DVD drive is having problems.
I had a Go Video combo unit in which the DVD drive went bad and I just junked it as the drive seemed non replaceable and would cost to much.

I have a Go Video 6530 and tested out a few Liteon drives in it as a replacement. Most of them could read (160, 165, 20Iap, 1693) dvds but only one that would record (1693) and I also was able to fit it in the case but couldn't get the front bezel back on, got velcro to do the job. One could test out drives and leave it out of the case if they wanted. Most likely you can still get 4x dvds in liquidation/bargain stores, just a bit of hunting.
I still have a Go Video combo unit, --- model DV2150 and is a DVD (Play only). The VHS is play and record. I use both for play only, it is some 21/2 yr old and still works fine I use it to dub tape or DVD to my other units
Go Video made a number of different models. This unit and the one discarded had Daywoo drives and would not seem to lend themselves to a liteon dive or any IDE replacement unit. It plays and records on VHS as good as any. On DVD it also plays a commercial disk as good as any ---BUT it will not play a + or ? disk (finalized or not) burned with my other units. It rarely will try to play a +RW and I do mean try, but fails.
I do not feel this is a drive problem but an issue of the unit
If the DVD went bad - (I do not think) - I would try to replace it .
If it would play a burned disk I would give it a real try
When I said junked it, I did not mean to infer that Go Videos were bummers. That unit was acquired used and had a number of problems. It would seem that support is very poor
I would open it An see if the drive can be replaced
Post the unit model # and the drive make
Thanks for the help and the link. At least I've been able to use the link to get to their site which has their phone numbers. The 800 number that is in the manual that came with the machine is no longer a good number. Neither was the website in the manual. I do appreciate the responses. I'll see what I can find out from the company but might end up giving my husband a new machine for Christmas.
