I've successfully ripped a few movies both to one and two DVD-R's - but can't seem to get the above two to work. Can anyone post me a proven method?

Thanks.

Should do a search mate, but anyways, I have just ripped Lord of the rings onto two DVD-R's and had no problems with it. I have no menu because I just want the movie in its original picture quality and Dolby AC3 5.1 Soundtrack.

---

Create four directorys on your hard drive (mine here is E:)

E:\LOTR\CRY1
E:\LOTR\CRY2
E:\LOTR\DVD1
E:\LOTR\DVD2

Using DVD Decrypter, I processed only the chapters that came to less than 4.3Gb in the normal way. I saved these into E:\LOTR\CRY1

After that finished, I then processed the remainder of the chapters, again in the normal way. I saved these into E:\LOTR\CRY2

I then had to Explore the DVD and copy the VIDEO_TS.IFO file to BOTH directories (DVD Decrypter doesn't copy these for some reason).

I then opened IFOEdit and opened VTS_XX_XX.IFO and stripped out the audio, subtitles etc. I didn't need - I told it to create new IFO's and I put them into E:\LOTR\DVD1. When finished, I closed IFO edit, reopened and opened up the VIDEO_TS.IFO file from E:\LOTR\DVD1 (NOT CRY1!). I clicked on Region Free, clicked on save and let it create a .BUP file. I click on removed PUP's (which there should be none, but I did it just in case). I then opened VTS_01_0.IFO and did the same, Region Free (just in case) and remove PUP's. Once done, I did GET VTS SECTORS and let IFO correct everything. When finished, you have your Lord of the Rings (or whatever) DVD1 ready to burn.

Simply repeat exactly the same above with CRY2 and DVD2 and you will have both DVD's ready to go.

Works perfectly on everything I have done so far (Mean Machine, Oceans 11 Region 1, Lord of the Rings, Heartbreakers, The Others, Waterboy to name but a few!)

---

EDIT: For the avoidance of doubt, I am using Decrypter 3.1.1.0 (Yes I know there is a new version but it doesn't work very well with me), IFO Edit 0.91, and Nero 5.5.9.0

I did Lord of the rings and had absolutly no issue... What I did:

rip ALL files to HD using smartripper

use IFOEdit 'split to 2 DVD-Rs' option

open the main movie VTS (should be 01)

choose a chapter in a middle as splitting point, and let's go.

copy the VIDEO_TS.IFO,.BUP,to your both output directories, plus the necessary titlesets for menu etc..., plus eventually VTS_01_0.VOB

Edit number of chapters on both VIDEO_TS.IFO

Get VTS on both dvds

make image file

burn

For me it really worked from scratch, with 2 output dvds including menus etc...

hope this helps

Thanks for the great walkthrough. I have been having trouble for some time, but with this method I got through it. It definately helps to have the versions of the software you used.

I did have one question for you though. With this method I do not get a Menu. I would like one on the first disc, do you have any suggestions?

Hi Goldo

You said:
>>copy the VIDEO_TS.IFO,.BUP,to your both output directories, plus the necessary titlesets for menu etc..., plus eventually VTS_01_0.VOB

>>Edit number of chapters on both VIDEO_TS.IFO

>>Get VTS on both dvds

Can you be more specific with the file names for title sets?
My disc 1 is fine but disc 2 cannot be burned.
Thanks

Thanks again for your help
