My DS lite had a cracked top screen, which I decided to replace myself. Since my career is with electronics, including extensive miniature parts replacement, i figured I can handle this.

I have successfully replaced the screen, and moved the speakers over to the new ribbon cable being especially careful with the ribbon through the hinge. At this point my DS is completely re-assembled. I am fairly confident that there are no problems with the cables.

When the power is turned on, the LED power light and the bottom screen flashes, and then the entire unit turns back off. To be sure that I hadn't screwed up the top screen ribbon cable I opened up to DS again and plugged in the old screen (which aside from being cracked, should still show indications.) and get no change in symptoms.

Does anyone know what causes this behavior? In my experience, I would say that it is powering up and isn't booting software. However, i have very little experience with DS's. I did notice two push-buttons located on the motherboard. Is it possible that I simply cleared the DS's flash memory?

I appreciate any help I can get on this. Like I said, I have pretty extensive experience with electronic hardware repair... but software not so much. I prefer to fix this myself rather than send it away.. it will bruise my ego. :)

Thanks again!
