Hey, I'm a newbie and I just ran into some problems. I tried to download torrents via Azureus. The speed in the beginning was 12 kbp/s but then it went down to 2bp/c and then suddenly stopped. The face was still green and I can see peers but I have no downloading connection. I tried another client such as Bitcomet and the same result. I tried Ares and no luck. I was just wondering is it my past-downloading history that screwed up my computer or the network decided to block off p2p? This happened after I updated to IE7 and installed Java (dunno if that affected it)
Hope to hear some replies soon.

I think I read that security in IE 7 kills p2p. By the way, 12 kbps is a ptetty low speed, have you set your upload speed correctly to 80%? This is a good site for a speed test: http://www.speedtest.net/ and keep in mind the difference in kb (bits) and kB (bytes), 8 kb = 1 kB, most speed tests read in kb and I believe Azureus uses kB. Look into Protocol Encryption: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/395674 and using Peer Guardian while downloading.
