which cart to get for 7 and 9 yr old?

my kids 7 and 9, keep misplacing their games and then I found out about the R4 and CycloDS Evolution. From what I have read, it looks like the advantage of the CycloDS over the R4 is the download play. (is that correct?)
the main use of the cart will be used to play backups of the games they have. I dont think they will use the DS as a mp3 player or for videos.

What I am looking for is which one is easier (or best) as far as how to navigate thru the menus to play the games. My kids are just starting to use the pc, but are far from being hackers or pc wizards.

any advise would really be helpful, as I am considering getting one of these for the holidays.
