I've had no luck with Ifoedit, or Prassi. Are there any other programs out there that will make image files from my hard drive? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

whenever i make my own home movies, i create an iso of the vob/ifo/bup files using ifoedit. I also do this for dvd-9 rips ive done because prassi often gives me crap about throwing VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders into a job. I have no problem with Ifoedit creating these images.

are you trying to open an iso to its parts? use cdrwin to do that.

I get an error message when I try to make an iso in Ifoedit. A particular .dll file is missing, but i can't remember the name of it off the top of my head...

I get crap from Prassi too.

I get the same error.
"can't locate imglib.dll"
I downloaded, installed it in my system folder and in the ifoedit root folder and nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Easy...

Go on this site by the author of IFOEdit - excellent site by the way, almost as good as afterdawn...

http://mpucoder.kewlhair.com/derrow/image.html

The you will see the following link:

http://www.coujo.de/download/imgtool_dll.zip

Download it, it is a package that contains both the dll and a standalone iamge tool that does exactly the same thing as the IFOEdit plug in.

If you use WinXP, I think you should forget about the DLL. Just do the usual job with IFOEdit, exit, and create your image with the standalone tool.

After thousands of fails trying to burn directly from the folders with Recordnow dx folder and the right options, just before killing myself I tryied to make an image upfront with this tool prior to burnin in image creation mode and... it went perfect from the first try !!!

So : Derrow and Coujo saved my life !!!

Ok... Maybe I'm missing something here, but I'm having issues. :P I downloaded the imgtool_dll.zip, unzipped it and ran the program. Fine.

Asks for a Source Directory. Put in where my VIDEO_TS folder is, which happens to be C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\Desktop\VIDEO_TS.

Asks for a drive. Put in Z, hit Make drive. Doesn't seem to do anything, but whatever. Hit DVD Image. Opens up another window for DVD Drive:. Hit the ... button, and all it pulls up is C: and D:. Sometimes it has the drive I asked it to make, sometimes not.

If it does, I choose it for DVD Drive:, hit the ... for the Output Image File: and put in the name of the img file I want. Leave Volume Title as undefined. Check Create Disc Image, comes up with the error "Can't locate 'Video_ts' folder of 'Video_ts.ifo' file. Please re-enter.

Um... WTF? If I put a DVD in my drive and tell it to go to that drive, it'll image whatever is in the drive. Obviously that's not what I want it to do. What am I missing here? Any help is HUGELY appreciated. Thanks.

Try putting your VIDEO_TS folder in your root C:\ drive. That might work.

First of all if I remember well, it is not the VIDEO_TS folder you should select but the one that does contain it (upper one). This explains the message you get 'can't find VIDEO_TS or AUDIO_TS folder because I think you do not have a VIDEO_TS folder within your VIDEO_TS folder --))

Second it took me some time before getting it to work as well with the drive issue. What I do is I always selct I: and I always get it then in the second step and it just works fine...

I think now you are ready for a success..

Help always welcomed
