I just came into a second wireless router.
Question: Is there a way to connect the two in a way that would allow me to use the second router as some sort of wireless adapter?
If I could use the second to hard wire several machines and have the second router access the first's wireless signal, I would be positively thrilled.
I don't even know if this is possible.

i don't think it is possible to use a router as an adaptor for another computer.

If you mean can you have the second router set up to extend the range of the primary router, and act as a repeater then yes you can....depending on your model of router.

Check here for a tutorial to have the second router set as a repeater

And here is an explanation of what you can achieve!

(+[__]%) - 2.00 > 2.71 > 1.50 > 3.53-m33-4
NasLite - 1TB Total NFS (RAID 1+0)

dd-wrt and a linksys WRT54G/GS/GL router are very nice, especially if you can get the older ones. new ones are being stripped down. my WRT54GS v5 runs dd-wrt v24 rc5 micro, and it's running with the $150-200 routers. wireless range is doubled, and you have more control over the router, including an option to turn it into a repeater.
