Is there fake Verbatim out there or do I have a bad disc?

Just got a pair of silver shiny DVD -R discs as part of an old time radio distribution. First disc looks fine & read at 8 to 11x in CD check. However another disc has some strange odd shaped circles pattern on the shiny side (top to middle) that I've never seen before. It's not on the recording side though. This disc is reading in CD check at 1x. The disc is 8x media with the correct Verb mid code. Has very small print in the hub.

Don't have a digital camera. I suspect it's a bad disc from Verbatim...

It could be a fake though thats why I wanted to see an image. I've burned quite a variety of Verbatims but I don't ever remember seeing any that had any circular designs on them. The MCC code is often faked by lesser manufacturers because of its reliability and acceptance in the burning world. In any case, don't use em for anything important. Keep em for when the annoying neighbor wants a copy of one of your movies and you don't want to waste a quality disc lol.
