no worries, I take it there is no easy way to get rid of the irratating orange start up screen without doing something to the firmware?

when I power up the phone there is a screen that flashes up with the branding of 'orange' (the network the phone was locked to)there is no setting in theme's etc that removes this. As I am on Vodaphone network it's a bit annoying, but I can live with it.

Strangely though I don't seem to be able to make outgoing calls with this phone even though it's unlocked, perhaps it's been barred for some reason. I can send and recieve SMS's.

See settings in the phone.
And for debranding you need hard-software.There isnt setting to delete it.
Try other sim in the phone,possibly will work better.
