High pitched squeal through speakers :(

Hey all

Can anyone help me with this problem since upgrading to a new computer I'm getting this high pitched squeal through the speakers and even the headphones!?
I've tried removing my mic, turning off monitor, checking for latest drivers etc.
But no joy.
Any ideas

i had this once, I never got to the bottom of it but I think I solved the noise by opening the volume properties (right click on the speaker icon in your task bar) and turned down or muted the "line-in" i think. have a play with those settings.

Thanks for the answer... but no joy, even if I mute everything it gets a lot quieter but you can still here it and of course that kind of defeats the object of the speakers anyway.
I think I might just have to take it in to the shop that built it for me.
