Looked around the forum and did not see anything started with this.

Anyone have any luck getting a rip of Superbad DVD?

Tried DVDFab HD Decrypter 4.0.1.2, RipIt4Me, and DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 and none of them seem to work. Get's to a certain point then just stops and can't move on.

Any hep would be great. TIA

Haven't tried this one yet - picking it up tomorrow but give the beta of DVDFab a go - 4.0.1.6.

If you have another drive to rip from try that one. You might just have a bad press - some drives are better then others on these.

Yeah no problems here either w/ AnyDVD and CloneDVD.

This one doesn't have much on ot protection wise cpres so you may just have a bad press. Best bet would be to exchange it for a new one.

What's "Official" about ripping Superbad? IMO an appropriately named movie...

After some effort it did work with the beta version of DVDFab. Did have to go the extra steps and use PathPlayer but after a few hours it worked and opened find with Shrink.

I cannot get superbad to rip either using DFAB and the latest beta version. I don't want to by another program as Dfab has always been great. Just finished bourne ultimatum no problems. Is this something new from our friends at Sony?

No. Give it another try as it should work with no problem. Use ver. 4.0.1.6 beta.

Ok I'll keep trying. Will it really take hours? I downloaded anydvd trial and it did nothing! I downloaded latest shrink and it does nothing. (I always thought shrink needed decrypted files so didn't think it would work.) Thanks for any help from anyone!

When installed, AnyDVD runs in the background and effectively decrypts the DVD. You can click on the little red fox in your lower right toolbar, select the AnyDVD ripper, rip to your hard drive, shrink those files with DVDShrnk and burn with the burning program of your choice.

I dn't know if this message is helpfull to other people except me, so...
I noticed that some bad pressed dvd's are able to be backup when using the old smart rip. Of course those compilations have to luck the newest protectins. Using this application with anydvd runing on the background may be a useful help in this situation.

Ummm z0diac there are no rent and burn discussion here. Rule #5 - piracy. As a junior member you should know this.
We really do not need to know where you got your movies from.

Follow-up Question:

I have "Superbad - Unrated" and when I try to make a backup, I get the Commentary superimposed over the entire movie. (AnyDVD, CloneDVD) Menu Option 'Commentary? On/Off' is present but doesn't work.

What am I missing?

thanks

Uncheck all the audios except ac3-6 in Clone.
I used the same combo with only that audio selected & all was good.
