Error for dvd player TSST corp CD/DVDW TS-H653L

This is my secondary drive and every time i try to read a cd or dvd in it it will lock my computer. Im not able to even restart or do anything with it.
I install it several times and the same thing happens.
My other dvd drive its a pioneer and i dont have any problems with that one. ANy help will be great. thanks
