Sony LCD vs Vizio LCD? Frame Rate for Vizio 52" LCD?

I am trying to determine why Sony's 52" LCD is twice the price of the Vizio 52" LCD. The specs are comparable, the main difference I see being the contrast ration. But does the contrast ratio justify double the price. I doubt it, but that's why I ask. What makes the Sony worth twice the price of a Vizio?

Also, a friend has one of the Vizio 52" LCD's and wants to know what his frame rate is. We saw that Sony's is 120Hz but we could not find the spec for the Vizio. Not even on the Vizio website does it list the spec for that. Does anyone know what that is?

When the cathode ray tube was developed in the 1920s, technology limitations of the time made it difficult to run monitors at anything other than a multiple of the AC line frequency used to power the set. Thus producers had little choice but to run sets at 60 Hz in America, and 50 Hz in Europe. These rates formed the basis for the NTSC (60 Hz) and PAL & SECAM (50 Hz) sets used today.
