Hi,
I recencetly ordered a Sony DRX840U 20x External Dual-Layer DVD Burner
My question is that does it automatically Booktype DL +R Dvd's?

Thanks for the help...

celeron 2.8, 2x 80hd, 1 gig ram, mad dog ext 8x dvd+/-r
1 click DVD / AnyDVD, Dvd-Cloner 2, Dvd Shrink / Dvd43
Nero, Power DVD, Pinnacle Studio 9.43

Correct, you should look into your burning program. ImgBurn, Nero, and others can be set to booktype. Experiment and see if it works! My BenQ's and Lite-On have their own software to set it. Does your Sony?
This website is down now, but should have updates if there are any when they are back up.
Firmware page!!!

I just don't think that any software will force a burner that is not capable of bitsetting, to do so. I could be wrong.

Thats correct too and why I said experiment, and also gave a link to the firmware page that might have updates. There are updates to flash some burners to -ROM even if they werent originally intended to.
Theres another topic nearly identical to this at a different website, hope I dont get in trouble for referencing the competition... :)

Cdfreaks has been mentioned a multitude of times, in the AD forums. There is no problems with mentioning them, as far as I know.
