I just heard someone saying that data on a DVD-R cannot or is dificult to read after a few years stored in a closet??
The guy isn't an expert in that sort of technical knowhow but he also said that he didn't had problems with a DVD+R if he want to watch a movie stored on a DVD+R several years later.
He says data on a DVD-R won't last a lifetime.
Either should be fine as long as care is duly exercised in storage and handling. Quality of media and dye used is more important than + or -. "Lifetime" of a product is rather subjective. Just don't store your data on "8-tracks", paper, vinyl, stone tablets, etc. All media substrates are subject to degradation over time.
Here is a link to the website that picture came from, they state it is YUDEN000T02.
Should that be the best?
Strangely the price is a cheap 15 euro for 50 pcs.
While on the official webshop from the Taiyo Yuden distributor (in holland) the cheapest are 77 euro for 100 pcs.
But maybe it is becausse thay are printable and those on cdrwinkel not??
If they're genuine, then that's a good deal. TY is a top notch brand. Verbatim is another, especially if they ID out as TY. Also, most any others with an MID origin of Japan will be good media. I'm not familiar with some of those that show TY as the brand, because they aren't available in the U. S. TY-made Verbs aren't available in the U. S. either.
We get our TYs by ordering online from Supermediastore, RIMA, Shop4Tech, and others. Someitmes we can find Fuji or Sony with Japan as an origin MID in the B&M stores. Those are TY and they are scarce.
Good luck on your quest and try to stay with the good stuff - TY or Verbatim. You'll thank yourself years down the road. Keep posting questions here because there are a lot of helpful folks who'll give some great advice.
The same shop i mentioned is now offering the YUDEN000T03 instead of the YUDEN000T02.
I'm about to buy the YUDEN000T03.
Before i buy is there anything against the 03??
It should be as good as the 02 right??
