Alright, so I have an internally modded slim ps2. My friend bought it from Taiwan and sold it to me about a year ago. I recently (today) discovered that it plays backup games when I managed to get my friend's copy of Persona 3 burned on a DVD+R to work.

So now I have a couple of questions before I start backing up some games.

1. I've been reading that DVD-R are better for ps2 reading. The game my friend let me borrow was burned on a Verbatim 16x DVD+R, but it worked perfectly. Is there a difference, or should I just go with buying a pack of DVD-R?

2. I have Roxio Easy CD Creator 5. I heard that Nero is better, but I don't have administrative rights to the computer I'm going to be using, so I'll have to use Roxio. Will Roxio work for burning isos to the DVD-Rs?

3. Lastly, I have no idea what kind of CD/DVD burner I have, as in whether it burns to DVD+R or DVD-R. Is there any way I can check so I don't buy a bunch of useless blank DVDs?

1. -R for old fat PS2s, +R for slim. 16x discs burnt at 8x seem to work best for most people.

2. As long as Roxio is capable of burning image/ISO files it should work fine.

3. Buy one -R and one +R and see which one works (some burners do both).
