Hi. I have a US PS2, one of the early ones, have a flip top cover and use Swap Magic 2.0 (bought it a while back). And it is modded too:-) Here is the funny part:
I have some PAL games, and, obviously, some back ups that I made.
Some of the back ups I made play just fine. Others, however, have a VERY interesting problem:
They boot up fine, but just as they start to boot up, the image is black and white, and starts flipping. You know, just like on your VCR, if you had a bad tape that needed tracking to be adjusted.
Nothing I do helps. However, there is something that made me curious.
I have a Russian Version of Resident Evil 4 (official). It also starts flipping at the boot up, but then, the game gives me an option to change the DISPLAY into 60Gz. As soon as I change it, my Resident Evil 4 works like a charm.
Other back ups, boot up without Swap magic, and have the same problem with image flipping, but when I boot them WITH Swap Magic, the problem dissappears (Gun and Rise of Apocalypse) are these games.
Other back ups work fine to begin with (Warship Gunner 2, Wild Arms 5) and yet, others boot up but flip, no matter what I do: Legacy Of Cain - Defiance, Shadow Hearts - Covenant.
Since they boot it, it is not the issue of the disk, since they play, it is not the issue of the disk. What coudl it be? How come Swap Magic 2.0 fixes the problems on some DVDs and not on others?
Please, help
