Hi,
I reckon you should check there is no issues with your RAM first. check each stick on its own by removing all memory and rebooting the PC, using a single stick of RAM each time.
If all works no probs, it looks like a config issue. I have just read about the Flex Memory option and found this: -
Flex Memory Technology, a feature that allows differing sizes of memory modules to be installed, while maintaining the dual-channel DDR2 operating mode, so you can stay with 3 sticks in dual channel and should have the same performance.
Flex Memory
Technology where it can be configured to support single-channel or dual-channel DDR2 memory configurations. Depending upon how the DIMMs are populated on each system memory channel, a number of
different configurations can exist for DDR2:
? Single Channel ? only one channel of memory is routed and populated, or if two-channels of memory are routed, but only one channel is populated; can be either channel A or channel B.
? Dual Channel Asymmetric ? both channels are populated, but each channel has a different amount (MB) of total memory.
? Dual Channel Symmetric ? both channels are populated where each channel has the same amount (MB) of total memory.
If there seems to be no issues with the RAM used individually, I would again try the system using Dual Channel (only the new 2x1Gb Sticks), then if this works add the remaining RAM a stick at a time.
This will eliminate faulty RAM, faulty RAM sockets, and only leave configuration as the possible problem. If this is the case maybe someone who has more experience with this motherboard / setup can help you.
