i bought a swap magic a few months ago it was scratched to hell when it came to the mail i used that but the cd one didnt work so i used the dvd until that stopped working to. last friday i ordered another when i got it today the cd one did not work and the dvd one takes me 5 times for it to load and when the dvd does load the back up doesnt load it just makes sounds. help plz is it my console?

How old is your console? The laser may need some adjustment/cleaning. Or it may just be that the laser is worn out.

i got my console in 2002 but i figured out the noise was cuz of the back up i was trying to play but still the cd one doesnt work and the dvd one takes a few tries btw the discs r in very good condition
and how would i go about cleaning my laser if i must do so

Ok so on the cleaning, if you have a slim it is just a matter of rubbing the laser eye with a q-tip dipped in isopropyl alcohol. Though if you have a fat ps2 then you will need to do some dissassembly before you can get to the laser eye.

i have a fat ps2 and i dont think the slim ps2 came out in 2002 but w/e thats not important btw wouldnt it ruin warranty?

Yes it will void your warranty but this is really a quick fix and can save you very much money if done correctly. Repairs from $ony will cost you over $50. This will cost you less than $10.
