I apologize if these questions have been answered somewhere else. I tried to search for all these answers but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.
I need to make copies of some DVDs that are used a lot before they burn out on me. Here are my questions:
1. I need to remove copyrights but I really don't want to pay for AnyDVD. What freeware is available that works well?
2. What freeware can I use to burn the DVD? I have Nero Essentials but I can't figure out how to burn the files from HD to DVD.
3. Do I have to save files to HD? How do I burn DVD files from HD to new blank DVD? I just used DVDFab to copy Santa Clause 3 to HD but I can't figure out how to write it to the blank DVD.

I'm sorry if I sound dumb. I am new at all this and I'd rather get it right now than waste any more time with trial and error.

Well, really I use torrents to get AnyDVD for free along with Nero 8. You could also use DVD Shrink (not on the site, you gotta look for it with google) and its free for copying. I'm pretty sure you need to save them on your HDD but you could delete them after you burn the DVD. You need an actual DVD burner and a burner software like Nero Express (comes with Nero 8). Using DVDFab to copy may not work unless you buy DL (Dual Layer) discs. I say get DVD Shrink, it copies and it shrinks the movie to fit on a regular blank 4.7GB DVD which is what you are trying to do. Also, some burners can only burn using dvd-r or dvd+r, so check your burner before buying the wrong discs. Another thing is, AnyDVD is just a backup on protection removal if DVD Shrink doesn't work.
