find the .dll in the system32 dir, right click on it and under one of the tabs see if you can find more info about it. BHO's can be disabled if its still functional that is. with IE open tools>internet options>Programs>manage add-ons. it could just be a left over from a poor uninstall of some software or it could indicate malware. a scan with a anti-malware app would be a good idea.

a .dll usually has other associated files with it. is avg antispyware coming up clean after a scan? we can try swandog's avenger. i will post back in the mean time you can try this if you want to:
go to start>run and type in cmd then hit ok
at the prompt type in:
regsvr32 /u d3dpmes.dll
there is a space after 32 and the u
then try deleting it in the system32 dir.

try this:
Download Avenger:
http://swandog46.geekstogo.com/avenger.zip
extract it to your desktop.
double click the icon to launch the program. Check the 'Input script manually' option.
Click the magnifying glass icon.
In the box that opens, paste the following
Files to delete:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\d3dpmes.dll
then click 'Done'
last--click on the traffic light icon to launch the program, then yes to execute the script.......
Post the Avenger output.txt, which you can find at C:\Avenger\.txt
