I have been wondering if I should capture footage from my Sony DVCam with firewire or with my analog Pinnacle DC30 videocard?
Firewires transfer rate is only 3,5 mb/s when DC30 can reach to 6 mb/s.
Firewire is digital all the way and if I use DC30 board, video needs to be A/D and then D/A converted...
Can anyone give some advise or should I just test it?
BTW, how can this be tested, because I cannot see any difference in quality in regular editing?
