Nero Express 6 cannot select DivX file

WinXP operating system, using free Nero Express 6, updated to latest version.

Trying to create data DVD disc to burn some .avi files. I click Add to bring up the "Select Files and Folders" box. Then, when I try to select a DivX file (.avi) to burn in the select box the Nero program just hangs and I have to close it using Windows Task Manager.

My dvd burner has all available firmware installed and I have updated to the latest DivX codecs.

Is there something I am doing wrong, or something I need to further update? This program works fine to burn .wmv, .mpg, .jpg, etc.

Do I need to use another program to perform this burn?

Try DVD Flick. Here's the guide. If you still encounter the same problem, download DixFix to check and fix errors of the .AVI file.
