Hi,
you have quite a collection. i would use that computer as little as possible and dont do any thing financial with banking numbers and or passwords. i would do this:
do two online scans:
ESET online scanner:
http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/
uses Internet Explorer only
check "YES" to accept terms
click start button
allow the ActiveX component to install
click the start button. the Scanner will update.
check both "Remove found threats" and "Scan unwanted applications"
click scan
when done you can find the scan log at:C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt
F-secure scan:
http://support.f-secure.com/enu/home/ols.shtml
uses Internet Explorer only
click on the "start scanning button" near bottom of page.
click to accept/install the ActiveX applet
"accept" the License Agreement, click "full system scan"
Once the download of files completes,the scan will begin automatically.
The scan may take some time to finish.
When the scan completes, click the Automatic cleaning (recommended) button.
Click the Show Report button and please save the report somewhere in case you need to post it here later.

before using hjt, disable spybots tea timer and AVG "guard" if running.
why: so they will allow hjt to make the changes. how?:
AVG Anti-Spyware (formerly ewido)
Launch AVG Anti-Spyware and in the main window click "Realtime protection" (in green indicating "Active") to change to inactive.
Spybot S&D (Teatimer)
1. Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode.
2. If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
3. On the left hand side, Click on Tools
4. Then click on the Resident Icon in the List
5. Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
6. Restart your computer.

hi,
ok good. first disable tea timer and avg guard if running.
next use hjt:
start HJT, click the "Scan" button. check the items below, close any open windows, then click "Fixed checked"
check all those 02 items that end in "no file"
and this one:

* Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
* Click the Scan for Vundo button.
* Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
* You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
* Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
* When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
* Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

hi,
yes, hjt log looks ok. i assume those on line scans also removed some trojans.
you have both spybot and avg antispyware. both have real time protection, tea timer and avg guard. not necessary to have both running at the same time. only use one real time protection from either one.

restore point:
One of the features of Windows ME or XP is the System Restore option, however if a malware infects a computer with this operating system it can be backed up in the System Restore folder. Therefore, clearing the restore points is agood idea after malware is removed.
To reset your restore points, please note that you will need to log into your computer with an account which has full administrator access. You will know if the account has administrator access because you will be able to see the System Restore tab. If the tab is missing, you are logged in under a limited account.
(winXP)
1. Turn off System Restore. (deletes old possibly infected restore point)
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
2. Reboot.
3. Turn ON System Restore.(new restore points on a clean system)
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK, then reboot

only need one antivirus app on a computer.you can have more than one anti-malware app though. see my link below, learn how malware can get on a computer, it may help you prevent it next time.

Thank you for all your help, i was always a bit intimidated to post anything on these help forums, those HJT logs looked difficult to understand. I have learned so much with the few steps you suggested, i even cleaned up my sons computer, HEHE.

you are welcome. yes since this isnt a moderated forum anybody can post there two cents worth, be it good or bad advice.
i just recently started to post here because it was between here and vcdhelp a few years ago that i learned all about video editing, avi's, vdub. TMPEGnc, gspot and all the other great tools, guides, information etc from both sites. they helped me, now i try to help in this forum.

that 020 item looks like a leftover entry, most likely vundofix would have removed it. you can select it in hjt to "fix" you could also look in the C:\windows dir. for a urqnmmn.dll if you find it we can remove it. dont forget to temporarily disable tea timer and avg guard if running before using hjt.
