I'll try to give a simplified explanation of lossless audio here:

When a film is prepared for release on disc the studios convert all the audio and video data to digital form. This is called the MASTER.

On the audio side the soundtrack is usually compressed to save space on the disc. They use what's called "codecs" which are, to put it simply, methods to compress the audio data in the master.

Compression can come in 2 flavors:
"Lossy" - Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS, DTS HD High Resolution
OR
"Lossless" - Dolby True HD, DTS HD-Master Audio

Sometimes, as in some BluRay releases, the original soundtrack that's in the master is transferred to the disc unchanged and uncompressed. This is what you see as PCM or LPCM Uncompressed.

When you play a disc that has a "lossless" soundtrack then what you'll be getting is audio data that is bit-for-bit identical to the original studio master.

If you're in the mood for a more detailed explanation:

I watched it last night. I do not have HDMI audio, so I cannot comment on lossless, but it is definitely a must-buy for any zep fan. Great picture, fantastic sound!
