The 3.0 was just the best deal money wise. The 2.8 would be just fine.

My preliminary tests show the old new shrink was good but fuzzy. The new new shrink sharpened quite a bit but still was a little fuzzy but wouldn't be very noticeable on a regular 27 inch TV. My favorite shrink was Max sharp shrink. It was nearly the sharpness of dvd2dvdr clip. I could still see the difference. The anomally around the nose didn't seem different from the original IMHO.
The dvd2dvdr was visibly less sharp than the oringinal but I guess you can't have perfection with 40% compression.
I will complete my personal tests by tomorrow but I am pleased with your test results from both shrink and dvd2dvdr stand points.
But it also supports the need for the best solution available even without maximum compression. dvd2dvdr in this test was the best clip I believe, but not really good enough compared to the original. I will try added sharpness in rebuilder and see if it improves without harming the picture.
