It wouldn't read any DVDs. I cracked open the case and the DVD drive is dead. I put an IDE drive in it but it wouldn't recognize it. I figure I'll get a new DVDR with HD, and was looking for some suggestions, unless anyone has had any luck replacing the DVD with some generic drive? I don't really want another like the original since it was pretty limited to say the least.

If your ilo is the R04, then you can use a Liteon PC burner. If it's the R05, I don't know what drive can be used.
