congrats! and welcome...
I'm not familiar with iriver, but i do know that some players wont play vbr mp3s. or only support certain bitrates. also, some require id3 tags. Install dbpoweramp(free). then, when you hover over an mp3, a balloon pops up telling you all available info on the file. i suggest googling it, or find stuff that works, and compare its properties to the stuff that wont. Also, firmware upgrade? check out iriver website for software upgrades.
Good Luck!

When I try send it to my mp3 player , a box appears headed "Property Loss" and says
"are you sure you want to copy this file without it properties"

"the file (name of song) has properties that canot be copied to the new location .......

help please , Im a dope when it come to these things .

ok... first you need to figure out which properties it doesnt like. did you install dbpoweramp? if yes, than it is the key to figuring this out.
I have a feeling yer player doesnt like vbr mp3. or bitrate is too high or low. in case you dont know, bitrate is the number of bits per second the mp3 plays at. vbr(variable bitrate) means during busy parts of the song the bitrate goes up, quiet times it goes down(results in higher quality, but some players dont like vbr ). cbr is constant bitrate(same throughout). the most common bitrate is 128kps. this is most compatible, but there is some quality loss(depends on encoder tho). do you have mp3s on the thing that work?
if so, use the dbpwramp to see its properties. take note of bitrate# and cbr or vbr. also, id3 tag version. also, at the bottom of the bubble it should have track name,#, album, artist,year,etc... (all of that info is the id3tag). some players require these tags for library function.
then compare results with the ones that dont work. this way, you can figure out what it doesnt like.
I googled your problem, and you are not alone. others have the same issue. however, no one actually posted the what these things like/dont like. so we are stuck with process of elimination.
the other possibility is that it dont like your id3tags. this one is easy. a program called tag and rename is your answer.
get it! i have almost 300gig of mp3s. some ripped myself, some downloaded, some from friends, etc... so the tags were all different.
many players use tags to organize your music. so they must match, otherwise you get separate artist listings for Smashing Pumpkins, smashing pumpkins, the smashing pumpkins, you get the idea...
get through the nasty mp3 issue first, then worry about that(unless id3 tags are your whole problem) It could be that the lack of say, the "artist" field of id3 is what is pissing it off. again, trial and error.
best of luck! hope i am helpful to you. let me know how you make out.
You can pm me if you dont want your questions posted to everyone else.
Merry Crhistmas!
