Hi everyone. Can anyone tell me what their experience has been with Verbatim DL's made in Singapore compared to made in India. I've always ordered mine through Supermediastore and I've always gotten ones that are MKM001 made in Singapore-never have had a coaster. Just received my latest batch and they are made in India. Still code out as MKM001, just a different country. Any info appreciated.
Thank you.

IMO, the India ones are not as good as the Singapores. In my experience, the MII ones burn similar to Ritek, RicohJpn, etc. DLs. I think the India Verbs are manufactured by Moser Bayer.

I ordered some of the Verb DL online and they were made in India. The failure rate was about 80%. I could visibly see imperfections on the dye side of the disc. The ones that did burn "successfully" rated out at about 78% with Nero. Needless to say I returned them for a refund less S/H. I'd say stay away.
It looks like Verbatim may have gone the way of cheap and dirty. So sad.

I had better sucess, about a 90%+ sucess rate with the MII verbs, which is what I get with the Riteks.
@rcm99, what burner did you use? These MII verbs might work best in the newer drives with newest f/w.

I burned the MII Verbs in a BenQ DW1655, BCIB at 4x. The MIS Verbs gave me very few bad burns. That was about two months ago. But that's not to say I didn't just flat wear it out. Alas, it has crapped out in the meantime and I replaced it with another DW1655 I had as a spare. Haven't tried any MII since. Guess I'm a little gunshy now. I'm hearing more and more about Riteks - good things too. I haven't given those a whirl, either. Maybe Santa will top off my stocking with some. ;-)

Your Benq should like the Riteks, mine does. They're not as good as the MIS Verbs but are also cheaper.

I'll have to give them (Ritek) a try. Could have been a bad batch of Verbs I got hold of. They were probably of a batch run in India for one of the first times, so they hadn't worked out the kinks. Verb has always been good, and I just hope they haven't in fact fallen by the wayside.

Thanks for the help. If I hadn't been so aggravated yesterday and used the right search words, I would have found other threads already in progress for Verbatim issues. Sorry for the duplication. I'll just have to give the MIIs a try, as I've already opened them, hopefully I'll have your success rate hobbit112. Stopped at the local Best Buy today because they're having a sale, but all they had was MII too.
