I would say posibbly YES, reason is I am canadian and a few months ago we canadians got banned from using demonoid because the CRIA threatend lawsuit against demonoid if canadian user are alowed to use that torrent site. NOw the only way around it was to use a USA proxy (or any other proxy except canadian proxy) It worked for me but was a pain in the ass. I'm sure every one is different.

Thanks lilbuck,

the reason i brought this up is utorrent has a setting for using proxies.

so i wanted to try because i noticed allot of trackers were refusing connection and thought maybe it was because of the region.

well, i used a multi-proxy software (appropriately named multiproxy) loaded about 20 anon proxies.

Downloading and uploading commenced but the proxy software wasn't doing anything. Used it before w/ browser and that works fine on several platforms.

it seemed the torrent client was bypassing the setting.
