i looked at the stickie threads first but hoping to have help soon....:-/ i got a new pci graphics card and i've tried the onboard setting which lets me load my computer with lcd picture showing and the new pci card in its slot but the intergrated card has to be used and i dont want that of course..........its between auto and onboard...because theres no disable intergrated option and theres no select pci as primary type option either.....so on to auto with the auto setting the pci card can't be in the slot and there is no lcd picture on the lcd monitor and it has to once again use intergrated graphics but starting the computer with auto means the new pci card i got can't be plugged in...which then lets the picture be shown without it plugged in.....i have the drivers disc so i'm ready to install them and i had them installed a couple days ago..but this is what is going on...can't forget to mention the the new pci card has a fan that spins when its plugged in...whats going on? i'm ready for this thing to be installed...i got it last tuesday please help?

install the drivers first, shut off the computer, and install the graphics card. start the computer back up, and leave the monitor plugged in the onboard vga port. it should show the computer loading to windows (or linux if that's what you use). once it's loaded, go to the display settings. select the pci card, and check the use as primary desktop and extend the desktop to monitor. the screen should go blank. when it does, switch the monitor cable from the onboard to the video card. it should be working now.

go back to the display settings, and go to the onboard video card. make sure the extend to desktop and use as primary monitor are not checked.

That means it's your secondary monitor. Move the cursor to the right far enough and it should appear. You need to set the second screen as the primary monitor.

What resolution is the monitor you're attaching to the PCI video card capable of displaying?

2048x1536 is a single monitor resolution, for high definition work. You need one of the following to use two monitors:
3200x1200
2560x1024
2048x768
Note the lower second half. To use 2048x1536 you'd need four monitors, two along and two high as well!

You won't be playing any recent games with a PCI graphics card I'm afraid, they're just not fast enough.

ok thanks for the help yeah probably nothing recent i guess it was basically related to like emulator stuff which probably isn't allowed too much here but like a ps2 emulator and others that need a better video card...my ps2's laser lens died idk about getting another ps2 i wondered considering it might be easy to get a copy of one for my memory cards....but then i saw the ps3 lets you save your data with a memory card adapter that you can plug into it...this wasn't possible at first i just typed in a search hoping it was true and you put the memory cards in and use them with ps2 games saved data so its not lost...and thats very important to well just so you know....and again I know it wont work with the latest super games but it doesn't seem to be compatible period with my dell e310 i tried different resolution settings and all i get is the backround and the option to right click which brings up a box to create a new folder and other stuff its not important i'll check back

As far as I can recall, you need additional software to make the contents of PS2 saves visible on PCs. The only example I can think of is the Action Replay MAX drive.
