Sansa e280 connect problem?

I lost my c250 so upgraded to the e280. I removed all previous software and installed the new stuff for the 280. The computer won't reconize the player, it charges and makes the connection sound but it doesn't appear in my computer. If I go to the device manager it shows it's connected to a sansa device but says it cannot start and there is a code 10. It works fine on my laptop. Also I was going to change the usb connection in settings but that option is not on my player.
