Firstly, this is all entirely new subject matter for me.

With that in mind - I am using DVD Flick to convert .avi to .iso and burning to disc with CloneDVD2. The 1st several movies I did in this manner worked great. However, with the last several .iso's I've created, ImgBurn has asked for a layer break position. After some searching I've taken that this is for large .iso's that require a DL DVD (?). This has happened with the last 4 or 5 .avi files that I've converted (each 700mb or less) and I have a hard time believing that each one of these is too large to fit on a single layer DVD.

So is it possible that I have some settings messed up or is it really this common for these 700mb .avi files to create such large .iso's that they require a DL DVD?

Thanks for any info/assistance.

somethings not right you don't need a DVD+R DL for a 700mb file you can use clonedvd 2 to fit it on a dvd-5 with no problems so check your settings in imgburn and dvd flick. heres a guide for dvd flick if you don't already have it

When using DVD Flick, make sure you have your settings for a 4.7 gig disc.

99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

Hey guys, thanks for the reply.

I noticed the lower right hand corner of DVD Flick showing the movie was using 4134mb of 4400mb disc space, so I figured that it was supposed to fit, but it just kept asking for a layer break.

I used the trial version of ConvertXtoDVD and it appears that it will work a little better as soon as I get rid of that watermark.
