Just another noob begging for answers =P
My purpose: downgrade to 1.5 for homebrew happiness (durr)
After running around this site and some others, I've gleaned this much information (I think):
-I have a fat PSP
-My firmware is 2.82
-I do not have a motherboard with "IC1003" on it. It does have "IC8001" on it though.
I'm pretty sure I have to upgrade to 3.50 and then buy Lumines so that I can downgrade using y'all's fancy tutorial.
My questions:
Can I downgrade moderately safely with a motherboard without "IC1003" on it?
Are there any special requirements for Lumines like there is with GTA: Liberty City Stories?
Where can I get a 3.50 upgrader? The Official PSP site?
I apologise for not being smart enough to follow your instructions in the tutorials properly, but I'm very reserved about chancing my PSP's safety to the internet and want to make sure I'm doing it right.
Hope you all had a great Chrisma-Hanu-Kwanzica.

That's a downgrader...not a custom firmware.
But i guess that since you don't know much about hacking...then go ahead with Lumines or wait for another reply...;)

Did some more looking - m33 3.52 is the only one I cold easily get information on so I guess that will be my firmware. I don't understand how it matters though, I thought everyone needed to start from 1.5 and load custom things from there, and I'm not even at that stage yet.

You could use pandora to flash 3.52 M33-4 without having to downgrade to 1.50 or 3.71 M33-2 you could then just add the update 4....
You could also update manually but pandora is much safer than upgrading manually...
:)

It sounds so much more complicated than just renting Lumines to me, And downgrading from there. Is there some reason I should prefer a pandora?

Alright, I just recieved lumines in the mail. I followed the instructions provided and when I try to run update X.YZ it tells me that the game could not be started. Should I simply remove the files I used to change lumines and then try again? What am I missing?
