When burning pc games what kind of dvd's do you use? Like call of duty 4, because they're like 6.5 gb and I can only find dvds up to 4.7gb and the only thing bigger than that is 9.4gb dvd, but those just use both sides of the dvd and call of duty 4 uses 1 disk for play and install. So each side is 4.7gb and i don't know how to burn that game.

So what kind of dvds do game companies use and where can i get them?

Slight addition to the entirely correct previous answer:

Since you didn't already know about Duel Layer discs, I don't think it's a long shot that you don't have a Duel Layer DVD burner device. Take a look at your burner, and hopefully it does have the DL in the model description. Also, Google the model number if you're still unsure.

It won't do you any good to buy the DL discs if your burner is not able to burn the two layers. If your drive is 'out-of-date', just buy one of the newer recommended DL ones. They're quite affordable.

By the way, the type of discs, mndogydud, you referred to are called flippers, and I don't recall seeing those even being available to the ordinary consumer.

So when it's dual layer 4.7gb then it's full capacity is actually 9.4gb?

No, sorry but you still seem confused. Like the previous response above mine correctly mentioned, the storage capacity of a DL-DVD disc is 8.5GB, not 2*4.7GB = 9.4 . Certain structure information, track listings, blah blah, take up a predetermined amount of space, so the space doesn't 'double'.

If you have a total files' size greater than 8.5GB, you're not going to be able to backup these onto one DL-DVD.
