My Problem :
Sitting in an office behind a proxy server. I really don't know the
proxys settings but they suck. I've been trying now for 3 Weeks to
get downloads working with Azureus, Bit-Commet, Bit-Tornado, U-Torrent etc but none of them seems to download / upload stuff. I've been fiddling around trying to:
1.)open ports
2.)do port forwarding
3.)reconfiguring program settings with/without proxy authentication
4.)blah blah blah
5.)installing many different torrent clients (one at the time with proper uninstalling)
Stuff I know :
1.) Proxy server IP
2.) Proxy server username, password and port.
Stuff that works :
1.) Browsing in IE and in Firefox without any limitations
2.) Downloading stuff using FDM with proxy configurations
The problem is that I can not open or forward any ports; if I configure them in the network control panel, and do a scan with a port scanner to see open and closed ports, the one that i've just "opened" will be closed. If I use my laptop at home, then all torrent downloaders will work fine.
Plz need a solution or maybe a program that I can use to open ports on my laptop so that I can use my azureus or other torrent here at the office.?.
