Is it a good idea to have other programs open when burning/copying? for example, i'm usually browsing the net when i burn, and it seems like my games always have longer loading times than they should....would they turn out better if i closed my browser and made sure alcohol 120% was the only program running?

It would help if you didn't do anything else while burning only if you have a fairly old computer and not much ram. Of course don't go crazy and play graphic intense games while you're burning either unless you have a crazy computer. I browse the net and burn all the time and do not have any problems with my backups. Though I do have a decent computer core 2 duo with 4gb or ram.

Don't worry about it. If your computer has enough ram, and your antivirus program isn't hardcore, then you will be fine.
