PSX backup CD to DVD?

My PS2 is getting old and doesn't read CD's well (original or CD-R), but DVD playback is fine. I'm attempting the memcard hack, but haven't had much luck with my PSX DVD backups (i.e. original CD games burned as DVD). I've tried Starlight's guide (but I realise that was for PS2 games), but was wondering if anyone might have some suggestions? When I load my PSX DVD backups, my PS2 just takes me to browser. Using messiah clone mod, console V5. Thanks in advance

I don't believe you can burn psx games onto DVD.
