Any ideas why I get stuttering when playing video games in window mode?

Let's say I play a game in full screen with a 1280 X 1024 and I get around 30 FPS.

Now I'd wish to play that game in window mode, like in 1024 X 768 so I'd get higher fps.

But when I try window mode, even thought I get higher fps, I stutter every 2-5 sec.(when I go back and try fullscreen everything works fine)


This is very annoying, happens on more than one game and I haven't found a way to fix this.

I need your help people.

what are your system specs? sounds like you need faster video card maby some more ram faster cpu

But to me, it makes no sense that when I play window mode in a smaller resolution(which should make the game less demanding) makes it stutter when fullscreen doesn't give me any stutter.
